"The discovery of truth is prevented more effectively, not by the apparent appearance of things and which mislead into error, not directly by the reasoning powers' weakness, but by preconceived opinion, by prejudice." (Arthur Schopenhauer)
I cant even remembered when a simple conversation together with my huband about the mysteries of outer space it has taken us to buy a telescope to see more in detail and in live what is happening out there. We were curious to know more, the images of books were not enough, we needed to see everything with our own eyes and leave the terrestrial reality to immerse ourselves for a moment in the infinity of the Universe.
Our first telescope was our learning tool. It allowed us to see for first time at 21:00 pm of a winter day the planet Saturn. I could not believe it, but I saw saturn rings with my own eyes and I was fascinated!. Since that moment we began to share a hobby that we adore.
Afterwards, we took our telescope to my country Chile and we could see the Milky Way as never before. Chile has some of the clearest skies in the world, reason that led us to take our small telescope to travel to the other continent.
Being able to see the universe with our own eyes was extraordinary, however I always had the desire to document all these images and share them with all those who can not have access to them through a telescope. No person can deny me that the universe and its mysteries are not of interest and that is why I have decided to create this blog.
A year after of began this hobby and in response to my repetitive request to document everything in images, my husband decided to go a step further and see how to attach a camera to the telescope. In addition, we had a great interest in observing the sun and for this we needed a telescope with special filters to capture the solar image in a good way. That is why we had to buy another telescope more advanced to which we finally conected a camara.
We are still waiting for the special lenses that are needed to see the sun, however our camera is already here! and that is why I could not resist taking the first pictures, in this case of our beautiful moon. I hope you enjoy them.
There are several observations on these pictures. As you can see, there is a big hexagonal shape in the second picture. However, it is also possible to see small craters with hexagonal shapes as well. These forms are very often present not only on the moon but also on other planets such as Mars and Saturn. A current explanation for that is based on two theories:
1. The possibility of meteorites that have crashed on the thin crust of the early moon.
2. The Electric Universe theory about hexagon crater based on the works of Brian J. Ford, who raised the possibility that most of the craters on the moon were carved by cosmic electrical discharge. Here I left more information about it: https://www.thunderbolts.info/webnews/120707electriccraters.htm
